Whirlpool Cabrio Washer and Dryer
77Ok readers, this is a review of the Whirlpool Cabrio Washer and the Whirlpool Cabrio dryer from a single guy's perspective. First of all, let me give you a little background about myself. I am single guy. I recently purchased a patio/garden home in a local community where I live.
This naturally prompted me to start shopping for a washer and a dryer. I had originally set a budget for these items of one thousand dollars. However, as the search for a washer and dryer set lengthened, I began to wonder if I was ever going to find the perfect set for a guy like myself. It is worth noting here, that I am by no means Mr. mom. I hate doing laundry and love to get it over with as soon as I can.
As the search dragged on, I was more concerned with price than the particular features of each brand. The features seemed to be redundant across the market. This aspect of the search led me to a local shop where once again the salesman produced dialogue like Rosie from The Jetsons. He did however, demo the Whirlpool washer. He explained that it was an energy saver which is great and that it does not have an agitator like the older model washers. It does not have this feature because its spins at about 1100 rpm and holds a larger load. After his demo, I immediately purchased the set. I have had them for one year now.
Well, here is my two cents. I 'll start with the washer. The washer is an extra large capacity tub which allows you to have a bulkier or larger load. It has numerous features which I rarely use. I prefer quick wash cycle for most things I wash. This allows the clothes to be washed in about 37 minutes. The washer will automatically select certain aspects of the wash cycle based on the one that you pick. For example, selecting bulky items (i.e. sheets, towels, comforter, etc)
allow the washer to wash longer and with more water. Selecting a quick wash as I mentioned above, uses the least water and soap. I have washed virtually everything I own in it from my bed comforter to briefs. It does exceptionally well in every aspect of washing. I will give it an A+ for washing. Another great feature is the rate at which it rinses will allow about all of your items to be virtually dry when they leave it and are ready for the dryer. This is excellent.
However, there are a few drawbacks that I do not like. Although it rinses at a very high speed which allows your clothes to dry faster, it allows your clothes to wrinkle if left inside for any number of minutes. So, when the wash cycle is completed, you had better be johnny on the spot, unless you want your clothes to look like you were run through the ringer the night before. The last thing I do not like about it is once the cycle has begun, you can not add a garment that you have left out without emptying the washer. Keep in mind I am only referring to when the washer actually has water in it. You may add a garment any other time unless it has water in it because it will empty it first. I hate this. Older model washers did not do this. I would like to be able to add a garment anytime.
In conclusion, the Whirlpool Cabrio washer gets an A+ for washing. It also saves energy which is great and it is very quiet. It also is durable. As I said, i have washed numerous heavily soiled items and had it for a year without any trouble. Overall, I'm glad I splurged and got it instead of a less expensive one. I love it.
Lets talk about the Whirlpool Cabrio dryer. There is not much to say about the Whirlpool Cabrio dryer. It has functioned exceptionally well for the year that I have used it. It has multiple settings for dummies like myself to press. All I have to do to dry anything is hit a button and it takes the thought process away electronically. I like this as it will not allow you to over dry items because it senses the amount of water left in each garment. This is a spectacular feature. It also has an extra large capacity drum which allows you to wash a larger load and I have yet to overfill it. This is great. However, there are two things about the Whirlpool Cabrio dryer which I hate. When your clothes are virtually dry it does not have a good setting for this other than manual, which I am inexperienced with. It needs a button for almost dry clothes. The last thing I do not like is If you ever have to move the dryer for any reason be careful when putting it back. If you are not careful when putting it back you will restrict the flow of air coming out of the vent which will cause it to blink "AF" and it will not function properly. Check the vent hose and make sure it is not crumpled too much if you get this error. If it is crumpled up, fix it. This will allow air to flow and the dryer will function again.
In conclusion, the Whirlpool Cabrio dryer is excellent. It dryers very well. It is quiet. It also comes in a cool black color which I love. The Cabrio washer and dryer set as package is exceptional. Alhough they are expensive, they are worth every penny. They are quiet, stylish, and bachelor proof. I would highly recommend them. Happy Shopping!
I am the mother of 2 boys. I bought the Cabrio pair, so I could do my bit on energy conservation. The city came to my home and put in a new water meter. They figured I had some how bypassed it, since my consumption went down so much. The only change in my household activity was a new washer!!!! Thanks Whirlpool....xx
The Whirlpool washer is loud, spins so hard (even on gentle) all my cloth have tight wrinkles, the cloth bunch up so it gets uneven, etc. I never had to iron with my other washer. I hate this washer!!

Whirlpool is a well known brand among the washing machines. In fact, this review can help you to decide on the features and usability of the washer. Nice work!
